Pair a tablet to a room

Turn a tablet into the room's own device, where patients complete what you hand them.

An owner or admin pairs and unpairs a room's tablet.

A paired tablet belongs to one room. It holds no clinic account: it shows only what was handed out in its room that day, listed by first name, and it updates the moment something is handed out, completed or withdrawn.

  1. Show the code

Open Rooms, open the room, and under Tablet press Pair a tablet. A QR code and an eight-character code appear. The code works once, for the next two minutes.

If the two minutes run out, press New code.

  2. Pair the tablet

On the tablet, scan the QR code with the camera. The pairing page opens with the code filled in; press Pair this tablet.

Or open medervia.com/room in the tablet's browser, type the code under Pairing code, and press Pair this tablet.

Use a browser that is not signed in to Medervia, or a private window. A browser signed in to a clinic account cannot become a room's tablet.

  3. Leave it in the room

The tablet now shows Welcome, and lists each form or agreement as it is handed out in the room. The room's page shows the tablet, when it was paired and when it was last seen.

  4. Unpair it when you need to

On the room's page, press Unpair. The tablet stops at once. Pairing a new tablet to the room replaces the old one, and archiving the room unpairs its tablet too.

Good to know

  • A room has one tablet at a time.
  • A tablet that is not switched on for thirty days stops working, and needs pairing again.
